Nestled in the foothills of Mount Warning, in the heart of the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, the Hare Krishna farm “New Govardhana” is a 1000 acre property with orchards, certified organic veggie gardens, cows, horses, streams and swimming holes in abundance. As an eco yoga community set on an organic farm, the Krishna Village endeavours to provide the blueprint of a simple, mindful, spiritually based lifestyle. By allowing our guests to share this experience, Krishna Village propagates a wholesome (in Sanskrit: sattvic) and sustainable lifestyle that is good for all living beings and conducive to a joyous and loving attitude.

Volunteers coming to Krishna Village are spiritually interested young people from all over the world – a fascinating mix of social and cultural backgrounds! Since you would be also a co-creator of the Krishna Village atmosphere as a volunteer, you should come with an open heart and mind to experience the sattvic way of life: simplicity, health, vegetarianism, spirituality and personal growth. It’s important to know that you won’t need to take on the Hare Krishna philosophy.

Highlights

• As a volunteer, your minimum stay is two weeks and the maximum length of stay is three months. If you wish to stay for more than two weeks, the initial testing period is one week.
• You will have 3 delicious vegetarian meals every day, with lunches (vegan) taking place at the Krishna Village community kitchen, and breakfast and dinners – mostly Indian style – served at the prasadam hall.
• Cigarettes, drugs, alcohol and loud non-spiritual music are not welcome on the farm, nor are meat, fish and eggs. Please make sure to fully abstain from these things during your stay to get a full experience of what the Krishna Village is about.
