Freedom Acres is a place where you can reconnect with nature and the simpler life. It’s one of the newest Georgia Animal Sanctuaries where proper food, shelter, and medical care is provided for the rescued animals. You can learn about the effects of modern day agribusiness on the animals, the environment, and your health. It’s a place where you can come face to face with animals you may only know as dinner.

About the volunteer &  work exchange opportunity

Freedom Acres is a place where abused, abandoned and neglected farm animals live out the rest of their lives in comfort with lots of love.  The farm is roughly about one hour from downtown Atlanta. There are about 70 animals including a horse, donkeys, cows, alpacas, ducks, chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep, pigs and dogs.

The volunteers will participate in all sanctuary chores including feeding, watering, manure, grooming, medical assistance and various projects. No experience is necessary except of a love of animals, must be vegan or at least vegetarian. There is a new camper that will be provided.
