Funprobo, a non-profit organization based in Bolivia, is dedicated to providing prosthetics to individuals with limited resources who have lost one or both lower limbs. The organization operates year-round with a permanent team of specialists, supported by volunteers from around the world who come to collaborate at their center in La Paz. About the free volunteer program

At Funprobo, volunteers are needed in a variety of roles to support the organization’s mission. Volunteers may assist as prosthetists, physiotherapists, psychologists, 3D printing engineers, or in administration and marketing.

Available volunteer positions

• Prosthetist: Create prosthetics using local resources and work directly with patients, offering both hands-on assistance and knowledge exchange.
• Physiotherapist: Help patients regain mobility by developing exercise plans and collaborating with prosthetists to ensure proper fitting of prosthetics.
• Psychologist: Provide mental support to patients dealing with the trauma of limb loss. Spanish proficiency is essential for this role.
• 3D Printing Engineer: Research and implement solutions to improve the 3D printing process for prosthetics. Prior experience in printing and 3D modeling is required.
• Administration and Marketing: Support FunProBo’s online presence by updating marketing channels, managing administrative tasks, and assisting with daily operations.

Requirements

Funprobo is looking for volunteers who are passionate and committed to making a difference. Specific qualifications may vary depending on the role:

• Prosthetist & Physiotherapist: Relevant experience or training is ideal, but those with a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Psychologist: Spanish language skills are essential, and candidates should ideally have qualifications or be in training.
• 3D Printing Engineer: Experience with 3D printing and modeling is required.
• Administration & Marketing: Knowledge of social media platforms, web management, and administrative tasks is helpful.
