Located in the Cyclades group of islands in Greece, Syros Cats is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned cats. The team of volunteers provides shelter, medical care, and finds loving homes for these vulnerable animals. Singles and couples who are fit, mature, healthy, and independent are welcome to join Syros Cats as volunteers for a minimum of one month. Applications are welcome starting January 2025!

About the free work exchange program

Work exchangers are welcome at Syros Cats from January 2025 to help with the daily operations of the animal shelter for a minimum period of one month.

Bed, breakfast and utilities are available in exchange for about five hours work a day on five days a week. If you have training or experience as a veterinary nurse, or feral cat experience, you’d be particularly welcome, but any cat lovers are welcome to join the team.

Requirements

• Be prepared to get your hands dirty.
• Be reliable, self-sufficient and can turn up on time.
• Love animals, especially cats.
• Have some previous work experience.
• Apply only if you are at least 25 years old.
• Be tolerant, friendly.
