Bluebird Sky Farmstead is a regenerative agriculture farm located in beautiful Longmont, Colorado. The farm offers healthy, delicious, and sustainable pasture-raised chicken and duck eggs, pastured pork to the local community in Boulder County.If you are into farming and have a desire to gain practical experience on how to run a farm, this program is definitely for You.

About the volunteer &  work exchange opportunity

Bluebird Sky Farmstead is a holistic, regenerative livestock farm focusing on pasture raised hogs, chickens, ducks and turkeys. They raise poultry for both meat and eggs. The farm also has a large garden where they grow plenty of food for themselves and friends.

The farm is looking for an intern for the 2023 season, starting as soon as mid-February and going through at least October, with room to stay longer. You will live on a camper on site, with electricity, hot water, and a full kitchen. There is a large canvas tent attached to add to your personal space, as well as some storage room in a basement.

This is a work trade, where you and your host will draw up a contract together to balance free food, housing, and utilities with a certain amount of work hours.

Requirements

You are a quick learner, with the ability to see farm priorities and act on fixing them. Your host will train you in all of their systems, and then find where your passions are so you can run the basics of the farm as well as developing your experience within your interested areas.

Daily tasks range from morning feeding, weeding, moving animals, making feed, weeding, planting, taking care of brooder chicks, and much more.
