Orada is an eco-sustainable retreat center situated in the heart of a nature sanctuary in the woods of Odemira, Alentejo. This magnificient place is close to award winning beaches in South West Portugal giving you the opportunity to visit the seaside after work within minutes.  Orada was built on a huge 71 ha land which provides absolute privacy for its visitors. If you love nature, healthy & organically grown food and are looking for peace, tranquility this is the place to stay.

Free volunteer program details

Responsible, committed, proactive with initiative and community spirit persons are needed to join Orada from March to November each year as volunteer helpers. Various jobs ara available through the season, mainly in the organic garden. People with yoga teaching experience, cooking experience, building experience are also welcome to apply.

• Friendly, easy-going personality
• Aged 25 years or more
• Interest in organic farming, spiritual person
• Only non-smokers are welcome to apply

• Biopool Maintenance
• Waste Sorting
• Composting
• Collecting firewood
• Laundry
• Painting & white washing
• Weeding and weed wacking
• Repair shop
• Baby sitting
• Water management

You will be provided with the following in exchange for your hard work

• Daily Vegetarian lunch
• 1 hot shower per day with own eco-amenities
• Shaded camping spot with dry-toilettes  (from March on)
• Pick-up and drop-back at the Bus stop
• Parking places & Camper spots with water + electricity
• Scooter for rental for 5€ a day to discover the region
• Limited internet access, no heavy bandwidth use
• Laundry once a week via laundry coordinator
