Kibbutz Lotan is a unique oasis in the Negev desert. The kibbutz, founded in 1983  is one of the youngest Kibbutzim in Israel with around 230 residents, including students and volunteers. This eco-Jewish community blends environmental practices with a liberal Jewish lifestyle, embracing the beauty of their desert surroundings.

About the volunteering & work exchange program

The Lotan community is a diverse and inclusive community that embraces pluralism. It offers a vibrant array of cultural, educational, and spiritual activities, including social events, shared learning, and after-work programs.

• About the volunteer & work exchange program
• Volunteers at Lotan assist in various areas where extra help is needed, such as date fields, tourism, and education— including kindergarten and after-school activities for elementary children. They also occasionally help in the kitchen and dining hall.
• Requirements
• Kibbutz Lotan welcomes as volunteers healthy young people for any amount of time between 3-6 months.
• Volunteers are mostly single, average age 18-25, and able to do physical work as required.

What’s in it for You?

Volunteers receive room, board (3 meals a day in the kibbutz dining room) and a small stipend. All the volunteers share an apartment with 3 bedrooms, a big living room, a kitchen, 2 restrooms and one shower.
