Fruit picking in Japan with farm stay
Program details
Nakagomi Orchard is a large scale fruit farm located in Minami Alps city (Mt. Fuji area) in Yamanashi. The farm mainly produces cherries, plums, peaches, grapes, pears, prunes, persimmons, apples and dry persimmons. There are many workshops and pick-your-own programs year around for farm visitors, and volunteers are also welcome to join the farm mainly in the harvest season from June to December.
About the work exchange program
Harvest season kicks off in the beginning of June and continuously goes on until the beginning of December. Work hours start from 8 am and last until 5 pm most of the time. There are two days off every week, when you can visit the surrounding area with the bikes provided by the host or go for a longer trip to the nearby city or mt. Fuji.
Volunteers stay in a dorm-style farm house during their work stay program. The maximum capacity of the farm house is 15 people. The house is equipeed with everything you might need for a fully comfortable stay, such as air-condition, bathrooms, kitchen, furnitures, wifi, etc. Free delicious breakfast and dinner is also part of the volunteer package.

Volunteers are responsible for cleaning the resting area and the kithcen/bathroom after themselves.
Please, respect the japanese culture and customs when you visit the farm and avoid consuming alcohol or any harmful drugs.
