Kailash IRC is a meditation retreat center located in Törbel, Switzerland, welcoming visitors from around the world. As a work exchanger, you will join a team dedicated to creating an environment where guests can relax, find inner peace, and learn the path to true happiness. Your responsibilities will include preparing guest rooms, cleaning, and assisting with the preparation of vegan meals for the community.

About the work exchange program

Kailash International Retreat Centre is a special place of peace and refuge located in the beautiful Swiss Alps. They offer a variety of meditation retreats and courses suitable for everyone.

Areas of work

• Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
• Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
• Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
• Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Your help is needed for 5.5 hours per day 5 days a week. You will have 2 days off.

To maintain a peaceful environnement for everyone, we ask that all our volunteers follow some basic principles of living within a Buddhist community.

As part of your stay please refrain from:

• Smoking cigarettes and electronic cigarettes.
•  Taking intoxicants.
•  Drinking alcohol.
•  Consuming, cooking or reheating meat (including fish).
•  Playing musical instruments our loud music / movies (use headset).
• Burning candles or incense.

A travel insurance is required.
