Jungla del Jaguar is a boat access only lodge bordering the Corcovado National Park offering a gourmet restaurant, tours, 3 private beaches, and a 130 acre rainforest reserve.
Find water falls and sea caves, go on night hikes, pick exotic fruit and boat to Cano Island for the best snorkeling in Costa Rica. In addition to the incredible guided tours, you can explore the rainforest on your own. You can also hike to world-class surf breaks or snorkel in the bay of Jungla del Jaguar.

About the work exchange & volunteer program

The Jungla del Jaguar Work Exchange Program is the only volunteering in Costa Rica which offers the chance to live next to the number one national park in Costa Rica, Corcovado. With this life-changing experience you will have the opportunity to live local, explore primitive beach-front property, while learning about conservation and sustainable living in the jungle while helping your host provide a wonderful experience for guests.

Volunteer opportunities outside of daily tasks include

• Learn Spanish with the staff.
• Teach English to our staff and other volunteers.
• Learn about the primitive local community.
• Find solace in wildlife.
• Pristine Hiking through groomed jungle trails.
• Free access to kayaks and snorkeling.

Progam details

• The volunteer house is dorm style accommodation.
• The volunteer program has a minimum commitment of 2 months and you must be 21 or over to apply.
• Volunteers have 7 hour shifts per day and receive free food and accommodation.

Accepted volunteers are required to make a $315 safety deposit via Paypal. In the case that the volunteer does not fulfill the 2 month commitment their deposit will be forfeited. Once the volunteer has completed their time commitment, their deposit will be refunded.

Responsibilities

• Make mixed cocktails and smoothies.
• Serve food.
• Help with dishes.
• Cleaning and bar maintenance.
• Be interactive and social with the guests.
• Sell drinks and meet bar sales quotas.

Requirements

• ​​Experience in food and drink service.
• Bartender experience.
• Experience working in a fast paced environment.
• A positive attitude.
• Genuine desire to serve guests and make them feel at home.
• Proficiency in English.
• Have a Results Only attitude toward work which helps you reach bar sales quotas.

Greenhouse Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Feeding and pruning plants.
• Landscaping.
• Cleaning hydroponic system tubes.
• Harvesting crops for the kitchen.
• Cutting grass.
• Gardening.

Requirements

• Interest in or currently pursuing a degree in the sciences.
• Landscaping or gardening expierience.
• A positive attitude.
• Interest in sustainable food growing.
• Self driven.
• Basic knowledge about hydroponic growing is required for this position.
