Paradise in Portugal is a beautiful retreat center set in a breathtaking lakeside location in central Portugal. The Quinta is surrounded by unspoilt countryside with a wide variety of wildlife and rare birds. The essence of the Quinta is a small, intimate holiday retreat for peace and relaxation.
The Quinta has been “green” way before it became fashionable. It’s totally off the grid and cover 95% of its energy needs through solar.
Electricity,hot water and even our ultra-clean drinking water is all solar powered and there is a bio garden for supplying the fruit&vegetable needs of the center.

About the work exchange program

Paradise in Portugal retreat center hosts volunteers every year in order to spread the word of sustainability by giving practical experience . If you are interested in either learning how to run a lodge or learning how to run a sustainable enterprise and are willing to be a committed member of the team please apply for this unique work exchange opportunity. This is definitely NOT a few hours every day! No clock watchers please ….

The minimum lenght of the volunteer positions are a month but longer terms are preferred. Your responsibility would include all the daily operational activities of a lodge such as welcoming guests, administration, kitchen help, cleaning, organizing programs for guests, etc..
