About the free volunteer program
This program gives volunteers the opportunity to teach English to children at a welcoming, family-oriented school in Mbale, Uganda. Requirements
- Volunteers should have a good command of English.
- A passion for teaching and working with children is essential.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude are important.
- Volunteers must be ready to immerse themselves in a new culture and adapt to simple living conditions (no Wi-Fi, limited water access).
- Previous teaching experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
Your Tasks
- Teach English lessons to children of different ages and levels.
- Help plan educational activities and games that support learning.
- Assist teachers and staff in classroom management and daily routines.
- Support children with homework, reading, and speaking practice.
- Engage with the local community and contribute to school events when possible.
