Meditation center work exchange program in the UK
Built in the seventeenth century, Thornby Hall is a stunning Jacobean manor that is home to Nagarjuna Kadampa Meditation Centre and the World Peace Café. Set in 17 acres of grounds with woodland walks, parkland and a lake. Everyone is welcome to visit or stay and enjoy this peaceful place. The Center has beautiful meditation rooms, a relaxing World Peace Café, extensive gardens, and guest and residents rooms. It’s home to a diverse community of people of all ages, living in accordance with Buddha’s teachings.
About the work exchange & volunteer program
If you would like the opportunity to experience what it is like to live in a Buddhist community, why not come for a working holiday? A working holiday is an exchange where by for some of your time (30 hours per week for a minimum of 2 weeks) we provide you with the following;
- Free accommodation (Same sex dormitory, which includes bedding and towels).
- Free food (Includes 3 standard meals per day).
- Free access to meditation classes, courses and retreats.
There are a number of areas of work you could join in with including helping in our World Peace Café where you can learn transferable skills. Painting, DIY, gardening jobs are also available as well as housekeeping opportunities. You are sure to enjoy this special and unique ‘work exchange’.
