Organic farming UK

Trill Farm is a 300 acre mixed organic farm set in the rolling hills and woodlands of east Devon, the UK. Trill farm was established in 2008 with the aim of developing an education centre and community of small businesses that could work together to use the land’s resources.

Volunteers are requested to work 3 months on the farm, seven hours a days, five days a week in return for a room and rather delicious food. The accommodation is basic but beautiful – an insulated wooden cabin with a lounge & kitchen, shower and toilet facilities are in a separate building close by. There are three twin rooms that are shared with someone of the same sex.

The work at Trill varies with the season, and can be hard and muddy at times! Independent motivated people with farming, handicraft and DIY skills are needed the most. The work is usually a mixture of helping in the vegetable garden – digging, weeding, sowing, pruning, harvesting etc, in the kitchen – preparing meals, wild harvesting and preserving, and help around the farm and household – with the animals, crops, fencing, building, hedging, tree work, chopping wood and so on.Help is also required running some evening events.
