Olana Organic Farm is a fertile permaculture farm dedicated to building sustainable tropical agricultural systems on a human scale. It’s located on the beautiful north shore of the Garden Island of Kauai with stunning ocean views. The three-acre organic farm grows fruits and vegetables and also offers a farm-stay, healing arts, retreats, events and opportunities to volunteer. The farm is close to remote beaches with excellent snorkeling, swimming and surfing opportunities.

About the work exchange program

Olana Organic Farm  is regularly seeking individuals or couples interested in tropical gardening and small scale farming methods. Work exchanges will experience a full scale farming educational program including:

• seeding,
• planting,
• weeding, and propagation to composting,
• bed preparation,
• farm maintenance,
• and farm product marketing.

Four to six volunteers are needed on a year-round basis since it is warm and growing activity is continuous.  Positive and enthusiastic volunteers are welcome to assist with the stewardship of the land and the marketing of the farm products.

What will you receive?

In exchange for 20 hours of hard work per week,

• volunteers have access to a rustic cabin or 10 x 20 covered tent platform (accommodations depend on availability),
• utdoor solar hot shower,
• indoor toilet,
• cooking facilities,
• fresh food from the farm,
• and high-speed wireless internet access.

Please, refrain from using tobacco products while working/living on the farm. Longer-term commitments (3-9 months) are preferred.
