Organic farm work exchange, volunteering in Laos
Yensabai Organic Farm is located in the North of Laos near a small village named Sop Kong, halfway between Nong Kiaw and Moung Ngoi. Volunteers visiting the farm will gain a lot of practical experience about organic farming and sustainable living.
About the work exchange and volunteer program
The farm mainly plants sticky rice once per year, seasonal organic vegetables along with mushrooms, fruit trees, herbs, herbal tea and Lao coffee are also grown on the land. Your helping hand would be needed in the construction field also, typical Lao huts made from natural materials like bamboo, wood, mud and stones will be built in the neare future. You will live an autonomous and happy lifestyle in accordance with permaculture principles on the farm.
Volunteers will learn and understand more about Lao culture & traditional farming. Simple and free accommodation along with 100% organic food are provided for volunteers. Working schedule is very flexible, it depends what is necessary to do first, but usually you work in the early morning & later afternoon. Volunteers are often invited by the local community to help on their farm, share, learn and join local ceremonies and parties etc.
Requirements for volunteering
- Minimum length of stay: 2 weeks
- Maximum people at one time: 2 persons
- Experience Level: Previous WWOOFing experience and/or knowledge about permaculture is highly appreciated
