About the free work exchange program
Estancia Ranquilco is a family-owned working ranch and eco-lodge set in the breathtaking Andes foothills of Northern Patagonia, in Neuquén Province, Argentina. It sits on a vast 100,000-acre property of rivers, open grasslands, rocky outcrops, and native forests where horses are central to daily life and work. In the summer season (roughly December through March), the ranch hosts a small team of seasonal staff and work exchange participants who help with a wide variety of ranch tasks while living on-site in simple, shared accommodation. Life here is fully off-grid and rustic, with communal meals prepared in an outdoor kitchen, limited internet access, and plenty of physical work balanced with time to explore the landscape, ride horses, or rest. The community is international and diverse, and you’ll be expected to contribute with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and respect for the rhythms of ranch life far from modern conveniences.
