“Calabash Gardens is a regenerative agriculture saffron farm in Vermont. We are looking for a few folks who want to learn the ins and outs of a working saffron farm and a wild crafted herbal apothecary. We will be harvesting wild herbs and edibles all spring and summer for our gourmet food products and apothecary.

We have a lot of farm work to do including weeding, planting and harvesting. We have ample areas so camp, but you will need your own gear, we do not provide camping gear.

We expect 6 hours a day, five days a week. We are RURAL and a car is suggested as you will likely want to explore and see the area which is stunning. We do not have transportation for you, but can pick you up/drop you off at the “local” bus or train stations. We will also be building a green house this summer and several other farm structures including rabbit hutches and rabbit tractors.

We are a working rabbitry as well and have chickens and fowl. We expect our home to be respected and kept moderately clean, pitching in for dishes and house chores is very much appreciated.”

What’s in it for You?

• All your food, internet, electricity, hot water, showers, and a kitchen for cooking is provided. YOur host will cook most nights, often for breakfast and lunch. If there is no fresly cooked meal, which is rare, you will be responsible for your meals, with plenty of food in the house.
