About the work exchange & volunteer program
You can volunteer outside of retreat in exchange for room and meals. Volunteer work is usually in the kitchen, housekeeping, painting, construction, or summer gardening. If you have skills or limitations with these jobs, please share this information with your host.
Like staff, volunteers work from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm five days per week. Work week is Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off. You must work a full week to get the days off without charge.
It may be possible to make arrangements to volunteer half-days and pay guest charges at a reduced rate. These arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis.
First time volunteer stays are limited to five weeks. If you wish to visit for more than a week, staff must approve your proposal first.
