Set high in the Swiss Alps, this volunteer program takes place in a historic chalet that has been welcoming guests from around the world since the 1930s. Volunteers play an active role in the daily running of the chalet, from supporting visitors to helping with practical tasks, all while experiencing life in a close-knit international community. It’s an opportunity to combine meaningful work with alpine adventure in one of Europe’s most breathtaking mountain regions.
About the free volunteer program
The chalet is part of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) network of World Centres, serving as a global meeting point for Guides and Scouts from every continent. Since its founding, it has been a place for cultural exchange, outdoor adventure, and international friendship. Volunteering here means stepping into that tradition and contributing to the mission of empowering young people and building a better world together.Volunteers join for 2–8 weeks, usually during summer and busy holiday periods, when the chalet welcomes more guests and extra support is needed. Located at 1,350 m altitude, the role focuses on guest services and light programme assistance. Accommodation and meals are fully covered, and volunteers quickly become part of a welcoming international team, sharing experiences and making lifelong connections in an inspiring alpine setting.
