Bhumi’s Farm spans 5 hectares of organic farmland, dedicated to enriching both the earth and the spirit in Southern Sweden. Established in 2017, the farm was envisioned as a sanctuary for animals and their caregivers. Over time, it has grown into a thriving community of residents, volunteers, and visitors who share a passion for ethical animal care, gardening, and sustainability. The farm is currently focused on achieving self-sufficiency in both food and energy.
About the volunteer program
Since 2017, the host at Bhumi’s Farm has welcomed over hundreds of young adults from more than 50 countries worldwide. With the invaluable support of volunteers, numerous exciting projects have been brought to life, and many more are planned, focusing on a joyful, spiritual, and self-sufficient lifestyle.
Your task
The assistance needed on the farm involves both daily tasks and larger projects. Daily tasks include:
- caring for cows and horses,
- gardening,
- cleaning,
- cooking,
- baking,
- and preserving.
The projects primarily focus on sustainable construction, general maintenance, waste management, cultivating and processing healthy food, animal training, permaculture initiatives, marketing and communication, and the production of eco-friendly products. The minimum commitment to the volunteer program is a stay of 6 to 8 weeks.
What’s in it for You?
The guest house offers several bedrooms, a small bathroom with a shower, a spacious shared lounge, and a kitchenette. Bed linen, towels, and washing detergent are provided. A washing machine is available in a nearby building, which also houses an additional bathroom with a shower cabin. A compost toilet is located near the wooden cabins. Volunteers are responsible for keeping their private quarters clean and tidy and for contributing to the cleaning and upkeep of shared and communal areas.
