Spend a season living and working within a forest community in Wales

Situated 25 minutes off the tar road on a working organic farm, Ecoretreats offers a wifi free, eco-friendly stay in the heart of Dyfi forest in Wales. Here you will feel far away from the stresses and strains of modern day living and have the opportunity to slow down and rediscover the simple pleasures of life.

About the volunteer & work exchange program

Ecoretreats is looking for  volunteers for the coming season. Successful applicants will receive free accommodation in return for 20 hours of karma yoga (volunteering) per week per individual. This leaves plenty of time to explore the area and focus on your own spiritual practice and contemplation. Couples or friends are welcome to apply as accommodation is based on two people sharing. Simple accommodation is provided. Karma yoga volunteers need to provide their own food. Revenue-share for classes and treatments offered by karma yogis can be discussed.

Requirements

Applicants should have a passion for sustainable living and follow their own spiritual practice. They should bring relevant skills such as permaculture design, yoga teaching, massage or other natural healing practices, relevant workshop content, natural building, vegetable production, vegetarian cooking and more professional experience and abilities in alignment with the mission and vision of Ecoretreats.

Volunteers must bring a willingness to pitch in with the daily tasks that ensure the retreat can run and improve. An ability to work together with owners and other karma yoga volunteers within the retreat’s seasonal conscious community is a must.

Experience traveling and living in challenging conditions such as those found off grid or in developing countries is helpful. A willingness to disconnect from the digital universe is also essential as we have limited phone signal on site and no electricity available for laptops or phones – unless of course you want to bring solar chargers.

A good level of fitness is necessary to navigate our large and hilly site. A positive attitude in the face of challenges and a huge spirit of adventure are essential!
