Spring and early summer surf camp volunteer opportunity in Algarve, Portugal

A wonderful volunteer opportunity is available for someone who wants to live and work near the ocean in the South of Portugal. The role involves helping with daily tasks like preparing breakfast and driving guests to beautiful beaches located just five minutes away. In exchange for this help, the volunteer receives free accommodation, daily meals, and professional surf lessons. The team is looking for a social person with a valid driver’s license who is eager to learn how to surf in a friendly environment. About the free volunteer program

Amado Surf Camp is a surf school founded by a team of local surfers who have lived in the South of Portugal for decades. Their passion for the ocean led them to open the school twenty-five years ago to give people the chance to learn and surf along the beautiful coastline of the Algarve. The camp is located in the Carrapateira Surf Village, which is just five minutes away from perfect waves and the beach hut at Amado Beach. The team strives to provide a laid-back atmosphere for guests and staff, though they understand that it takes hard work to create this easy-going lifestyle. The camp is now looking for a volunteer to join the team from the 1st of March until the 30th of June 2026.

Requirements

• A strong interest in learning how to surf.
• Confident English speaking and understanding skills.
• A valid driver’s license.
• The ability to commit to the position for at least one month.
• A flexible and helpful attitude.
• Knowledge of other languages is a great advantage.

Your responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast and clean up the dishes after guests finish eating.
• Perform general cleaning of bathrooms, toilets, the kitchen, and guest rooms.
• Handle laundry and help with gardening or general maintenance.
• Pick up and drop off guests at the beach or local restaurants and bars.
• Look after the guests and act as a social member of the team.
• Work around 4 hours each day with a flexible schedule.
