About the free volunteer / work trade program
This opportunity takes place at Refugio Puerto Rico, a serene 37 acre mountain retreat nestled in the Central Cordillera of Puerto Rico. Volunteers live onsite and support the daily operations of the retreat in exchange for room and board. The property features lush jungle trails, natural springs, fruit trees, and wide mountain views. Over time, you will contribute to sustaining and expanding the space as a welcoming haven for guests seeking rest, growth, and connection with nature.
This program is an immersive experience where you work alongside the core team and other volunteers to maintain and build infrastructure, care for the land, and help create a nurturing environment for both visitors and the surrounding ecosystem.
