Holsby, part of the worldwide network of Torchbearer Bible Schools and conference centers is nestled among the forests and lakes of southern Sweden. Holsby runs camps and retreats throughout the spring and summer months which integrate Bible teaching with adventure and sports activities in sharing the life of Jesus Christ with youth.

About the work exchang, volunteer program

Holsby is a place where hundreds of people gather from all over the world to fellowship and share their relationship with God. The facilities are busy year-round, with Bible school running September through May, and camps and retreats running April through mid-September you will find both summer and long-term opportunities with the program, kitchen, hospitality and maintenance teams.

Program team volunteer program (from June to Sept)

As a volunteer on the program team, you will take part in facilitating groups that participate in programs at Camp Holsby from one day to two weeks in length.

You will be trained to use Holsby’s high ropes course and other adventure activities in a safe manner, and will also be equipped to begin to use these activities. While most of the work assignments will involve facilitating guests with different program elements, you will also assist with other logistical and practical areas as needed, including for example helping with room cleaning, dishes or various maintenance tasks.

A minimum commitment of eight weeks is required to participate with the program/adventure team.

Kitchen team volunteer program (from June to Sept, Sept to August)

As a member of the kitchen team, you will be primarily involved in food preparation and various cleaning responsibilities pertaining to the kitchen.

You will be expected to comply with safety regulations in regards to cleanliness and personal hygiene. A basic understanding of food handling and preparation is recommended.

During the school year, you will have the opportunity to work alongside students in a leadership role and to be more involved in the personal aspect of ministry.

Maintenance team volunteer (from June to Sept, Sept to Sept)

As a volunteer on the maintenance team, you will help maintain the historic wood structures that make up the Holsby campus. You will be working on both the interior and exterior of the various buildings such as the dorms and chapel. You will be assigned various projects according to your ability and experience.

Hospitality team volunteer (from June to Sept)

As a member of the hospitality team, you will have the opportunity serve the guests in many practical ways. The hospitality team handles a variety of responsibilities that are important in creating an atmosphere of peace, comfort and Christian hospitality.
