Position Overview

Wave Nest Surf Camp is looking for a crew of enthusiastic volunteers to join them for an unforgettable summer experience. Volunteers will get to enjoy the camp as one of their own guests. In exchange for a minimal workload, volunteers will receive accommodation, meals, daily activities, sports equipment, and free access to surf and yoga lessons. This opportunity is perfect for those eager to expand their knowledge, meet new people, and learn amazing skills, all while having a blast.

Key Responsibilities

As a volunteer, responsibilities will include assisting in various tasks across the camp. Volunteers will work in a supportive team environment, where even the simplest task is key to ensuring a smooth operation. Tasks include:

• Assisting with meal preparation, serving meals, cleaning dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in the camp’s shared spaces.
• Supporting the team in keeping the tents, bar, and common areas clean and organized.
• Following the orders from the head of volunteers, ensuring everyone’s safety, and contributing to a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere.
• Being proactive in learning and contributing to the camp’s day-to-day operations. Volunteers should be willing to ask for help and be open to learning new skills.

Requirements

Wave Nest is looking for volunteers who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates should:

• Have some experience working in a fast-paced setting, either through previous jobs or educational experiences. Possess strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Be eager to learn new things, step outside their comfort zone, and contribute ideas to improve the camp.
• Be proactive, adaptable, and ready to make the most of the experience.

Daily Tasks at Wave Nest:

• Volunteers will have the chance to immerse themselves in the camp’s vibrant atmosphere, surrounded by nature, sun, and a diverse group of people. In addition to the key responsibilities, volunteers will participate in daily activities that foster a positive, social environment.

Camp Cleaning and Maintenance

After check-out on Saturdays, the entire Wave Nest crew will come together for a deep clean of the camp. This collaborative operation ensures that all tents and shared spaces are refreshed and ready for the next group of guests. Tasks include:

• Stripping bedding, sweeping floors, and making beds.
• Ensuring that all shared spaces are tidy and inviting.

This is a crucial part of camp life, allowing everyone to contribute to a clean and welcoming environment.

• Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in the staff camping zone, with a comfortable tent that includes a mattress, bedframe, pillow, blanket, and bedding. Access to electricity is also provided.
