The Bug Eye House is located in Britsh Columbia, less than five minutes to Invermere, 15 minutes to Panorama ski resort, and it’s right in the heart of Lake Lillian and the Kloosifer bike trail system. This area is perfect for enjoying the nature, there’s swimming, biking, fishing, skating and more on your doorstep. The Bug Eye House is looking for a summer groundskeeper for the upcoming season. “We have a tiny house on wheels where you can live in exchange for being our summer groundskeeper. About 10 hours a week of work all in all if you moved the sprinklers around as much as possible and cut a different section of grass every other day, Pull some weeds, care for about 2 dozen chickens from hatch to maturity. There was a grasshopper infestation last year, hence the panic for chickens.

Hoping for a dog owner who will protect and not kill the chickens. Also, the tiny house has no running water (although there is water onsite) so you must be prepared to rough it. We’ll set up a composting or pit toilet if you need one. If you have a little trailer or a camper this is a great place to spend the summer in the BC Rockies. Preference given to someone who can stay the whole season. You must have a car as it’s about 6km from town.”

What’s in it for You?

• Five months rent free use of tiny house including hydro and water plus parking for camper or car.

You will provide your own food. Ian and Stephanie have a log home operating as a B and B with a property manager but the dry grounds require daily grass cutting, watering and chicken raising.
