Kawai Purapura, retreat centre situated in Albany village just 20-30 mins from Auckland city centre. Set up in large tract of mature bush land, this retreat centre creates a perfect sanctuary for anyone looking for a break from the city rush but still wants to have the option to quickly sneak in back to the city buzz.

Kawai Purapura welcomes volunteers to live and learn at the beautiful 19-acre community. Accommodation, complimentary morning yoga classes, a great environment of 40 international volunteers to share your time with, free access to our festivals, and a swimming pool, spa and sauna are all provided in exchange for 18 hours work each week (six three-hour days or three six-hour days)  The minimum length of stay is three weeks.

There’s a range of work available with the accommodation team, kitchen, retreats/events team, gardening, building and the all-important, keeping the facilities clean.

Kawai Purapura is a smoke, alcohol and drug free environment, and are also primarily vegetarian.
