About the volunteer program
With a history spanning over 60 years, Holden Village has evolved from a former copper mining town into a vibrant hub of education, spiritual growth, and inclusive community. It warmly welcomes individuals of all sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, religious backgrounds, and gender identities.
Set amidst rustic buildings, forested trails, and towering mountains, Holden Village provides the ideal environment for reflection, reconnection, and renewal. Work exchange participants contribute through purposeful tasks while also enjoying recreation, shared meals, worship, and genuine connections with others.
Requirements
Prospective volunteers should demonstrate a willingness to participate in communal living and contribute to the Village’s operations. While specific roles may have unique requirements, general expectations include:

Your responsibilities
- Volunteer roles at Holden Village span a wide array of responsibilities, including:
- Guest Services: Assisting with housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining communal spaces.
- Program Support: Facilitating educational and recreational activities for guests of all ages.
- Kitchen Assistance: Preparing and serving meals, as well as kitchen maintenance.
- Maintenance and Operations: Supporting the upkeep of facilities and infrastructure.
- Art Studio Assistance: Helping manage creative spaces and supporting art programs.
Volunteers are placed based on the Village’s needs and the individual’s skills and interests.
