Banteay Srey Project has developed a vocational training centre where girls have the opportunity to develop a wide range of marketable skills as well as life skills in Cambodia. At the centre trainees also study English, Khmer, and basic mathematics. The project provides a supervised residence where young women can develop their independence in a comfortable safe environment.  Trainees are also offered yoga and meditation classes to support their personal growth and healing from inter-generational trauma.

Trainees are offered a maximum of 2 years training and employment at the centre by which time they are well prepared to navigate a broad range of employment choices in the growing hospitality and tourism sector. Graduating trainees are given support to find excellent job placements in spas, resorts, or restaurants. Select trainees may be mentored to open small businesses under the Banteay Srey name.c

Certified Yoga Teachers are needed for Banteay Project and Women’s Spa. Yoga Teachers will also be given the opportunity to support the project with any other skills they bring with them. First time yoga teachers are also welvome. Preference is given to teachers who possess other needed skills. A minimum commitment of two months from all Yoga Teachers are expected.

Other Needed Skills which are helpful are as follows; ESL Teaching, Marketing, Photography, Video Editing, Accounting, Anatomy, and First Aid

Massage Therapists and aestheticians & Spa Practitioners are also needed  supporting trainees with hands on training in massage and anatomy. We look for a minimum commitment of 2 weeks from Massage Therapists.

Requirements

Volunteers are required to have travel insurance which covers medical expenses and emergency evacuation during their stay at the Banteay Srey Project in Cambodia.

To volunteer and work at the Banteay Srey Project you need to be independent, self motivated and open to learning.  An ability to accept that one’s preconceptions and beliefs can be wrong is extremely important, as are empathy, compassion and a non-judgmental nature.

Free meals

All meals at the project in Kampot are provided.  Khmer meals from our staff kitchen are available. We also offer a wide selection of meals free of charge from the menu at the onsite vegen cafe.

Housing

Onsite accommodations are no longer available for volunteers. There are many affordable options in town and a list of recommendations will be made available to you well before your arrival. Monthly rentals at our selected guesthouses range from $100- $450/month.
