About the free volunteering program (April – December)

At Sunshine House you’ll be part of a small community on the Greek island of Evia, set in a traditional country home that has welcomed guests and volunteers from around the world for many years. The place offers holistic retreats, massage and wellness courses, and a space where people can live simply and cooperatively while learning from one another. As a volunteer you’ll help support daily life and activities that keep the community running smoothly, surrounded by olive groves, peaceful gardens, and easy access to beaches, local villages and countryside. Evia is a large, authentic Greek island with beautiful coastline, mountains, and small towns to explore in your free time, giving you both a meaningful experience and a chance to discover Greek culture and nature. The program runs seasonally and attracts people of all ages who want a grounded, practical way to volunteer abroad.

Requirements

• Be ready to work about six days per week with roughly 5 hours of volunteering each day.
• Have a positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
• Be open-minded and respectful of others’ cultures and ways of life.
• Bring initiative so you can see a task that needs doing and lend a hand without being told.
• Be comfortable living in a shared, community environment.

Your responsibilities

• Helping with meal preparation and basic kitchen duties when needed.
• Assisting with cleaning, laundry and tidying up shared spaces.
• Watering and maintaining the garden and outdoor areas.
• Supporting general daily tasks around the house and property.
