Loch Voil Hostel is a peaceful mountain hostel on Balquhidder lochside with own jetty, and boat. Ideal for outdoor activities and relaxing in beautiful surroundings.  If you want to experience a remote, beautiful and wild place – a microcosm of all that is archetypal of the Scottish Highlands – and only 40 minutes away from the Lowlands come to visit this hidden gem.

Voluntary Hostel assistants needed from April through October

This is a live-in position of 35 hours per week – 5 days, mostly mornings including Saturday and Sunday. Own accomodation (caravan) is provided. Couples are welcome to take the post and could provide a private caravan with water supply and own toilet. Accomodation and fuel free and £50 a week per person for food.

Your responsibilities

• Duties are taking bookings and general house-keeping.
• There is also plenty of outdoor general maintenance work – ie wood chopping and path making etc.

Skills needed

• They are looking for cheerful, multi-skilled people.
• Hostel experience would be a bonus but is not essential!

This position would suit people with a love of the outdoors. Own transport would also be a bonus though not necessary. Bus services to Edinburgh and Glasgow (2 hours) is available.

One month minimum stay is required.
