About the work exchange program

Established in 1991, Gram’s music-inspired hostel in Tampa offers travelers a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. As the city’s first hostel, it embraces a community-driven spirit where guests and volunteers come together in a creative and relaxed environment. The work exchange program provides an opportunity for like-minded individuals to contribute to the daily operations while experiencing the unique charm of this one-of-a-kind space. Work exchangers become an essential part of the team, ensuring that the hostel remains a clean, comfortable, and enjoyable place for all visitors. 

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping: washing dishes, doing laundry, sweeping, and mopping.
• After check-out time (from 11 AM onward), cleaning guest rooms: changing sheets, tidying bathrooms, and wiping down surfaces.

Requirements

• Work exchangers must be available six days per week for designated tasks.
• Work hours are divided into two time slots: 10 AM – 11 AM and 2 PM – 3 PM (flexibility may be required).
• A positive attitude, teamwork, and respect for both guests and fellow volunteers are expected.
• Drunken or disruptive behavior is strictly prohibited.
• Volunteers taking on an additional job must still fulfill their hostel duties on time.
