K’s House hostel was founded in Kyoto in 2003 in order to provide inexpensive, convenient and comfortable accommodation for travelers. Currently with 8 branches in operation, the hostel chain welcomes over 150,000 foreign guests from over 80 countries every year. In order to contribute to the global community, K’s House have been involved with various charitable organizations
including  World Vision and CIESF, benefiting the advancement of education in Cambodia and other developing countries.

Work trade hostel program

K’s House offers free accommodation in exchange for assisting in housekeeping and cleaning or night-duty tasks in the hostels. Locations are available for work exchange program participants are the following: Tokyo, Kyoto, Mt.Fuji, Hakone,  Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Ito Onsen, Takayama, Hakuba Alps.

Requirements

• A pleasant and mature person aged 20-30 years old
• Be available for work 4 hours/day for the period of 2 weeks minimum
• Working holiday visa holder

About the working holiday visa programme: The working holiday programmes are, based on bilateral arrangements, intended to make it possible for the youth of Japan and its partner countries/regions to enter each country/region primarily for the purpose of spending holidays while allowing them to engage in employment as an incidental activity of their holidays for the purpose of supplementing their travel funds. Since 1980 when the first working holiday visa was issued, more than 10 000 young traveler applied successfully to the program. More information about the application is available on this link.
