The Anahata Yoga Health & Education Trust is a non-profit, charitable, organisation dedicated to sharing the traditional practices of yoga. Anahata is situated in the midst of native beech forest with spectacular ocean views bordering the Abel Tasman National Park in the northwest part of the South Island of New Zealand. The Anahata community lives in accordance with authentic yoga lifestyle and Eco principles. They are committed to living simply and sustainably; in harmony with nature and one another.

About the work exchange program

Anahata is looking for experienced, responsible, and self-motivated Care Takers for the property to help maintain the infrastructure of the centre.

Your responsibilites would be

• Upkeep of buildings and grounds associated with the property including Landscaping, Fire wood management.
• Checks and maintenance on key systems: solar, diesel generator, grey water.
• Preparing spaces for Airbnb guests and Venue HiresMaintaining a vegetable garden
• Possible light admin (ie. answering Air B&B messages and checking phones)
• Other duties as they arise.

There are longer term possibilities for interested people in increasing resilience and sustainability on the land, such a reigniting beekeeping and planting more fruit and nut trees. Work exchangers are expected to work  20hrs per week
