The Yoga Forest is a space dedicated to bringing together the principles of Permaculture and the philosphies of Yoga in Guatemala. It is an experiment in self-reliant homesteading, green living and yogic practices.

Work trade opportunities are all for minimum 3 month commitments. A one month trial period is required prior to commencing your work trade at a cost of US$300 for the first month, staying in shared circus tent accommodations.  After the first trial month is completed, if both parties agree that you are a suitable fit, your work trade will commence for a minimum of two more months, however three to six month commitments will be preferred.

After successful completion of a three month work trade, you will be refunded 100% of your initial US$300 deposit.

Available volunteer positions

Healer, therapist, yoga teacher

Autonomous position where you are able to create your own abundance depending on your skill set. Opportunities to create your own day retreats, workshops and massage offerings. Applicants must be certified yoga teachers with a minimum of one year teaching experience as well as training in at least one facet of massage therapy. Each volunteer is responsible for up to six yoga classes per week, in both hatha/vinyasa and restorative/yin styles as well as space holding shifts and performing karma yoga duties for the community.

Carpentry/Permaculture Enthusiasts

The Yoga Forest  is looking for unique individuals with abilities to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures on site. Understanding of Permaculture principles and green living are a must. Responsible for the care of forest animals, aquaculture systems and daily farm tasks.

Kitchen Karma Yogi

Vibrant individuals with experience cooking for groups up to 30 people are needed at Yoga Forest who are expert in preparing vegetarian food, and raw Superfood snacks. Applicants should be comfortable with fermentation and pro-biotic foods.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our kitchen and working alongside oocal Mayan ladies as well as holding energetic space as a vibrant community member. Conversational Spanish required, applicants who are also yoga teachers will be prioritized.
